Robert Bateman

Robert Bateman has been a major inspiration to me. Each of his painting delves way beyond the first impression to the viewer. Many of his paintings deal with underlying environmental issues. I was very lucky to be able to study with him in Yellowstone National Park in 2006. I took this photo while he was demonstrating a technique for painting grasses.
